Juhal stood in the center of his warriors, they were all hiding among the trees waiting in ambush for the wetlanders to follow, they didnt. A rhuidi approached Juhal after exploring near the edge of the forest, for Rhuidi did not have to follow commands from any but themselves, and spoke "I can hear them from the edge, i can hear further a gift they say for my lack in the power, they plan to bring reinforcements and to burn the forest" Juhal nodded in a thank you and called the few scouts he had left "Go after the others tell them to make their way quitly and unseen and to blow the horn once they are ready" As the scouts left he pulled an older warrior toward him "Jakir, you are experianced take 30 warriors and go back through the forest, keep out of site of the wetlanders and move to cut off an escape to the south, when you hear the horn blow run at them i am sure they will retreat back into you that is when we will close on them...when they have no directions to run as we will cover west, south and north." The old warrior took the 30 men and began his route back through the forest, it would take at least an hour to reach Nerxis maybe half that time on horseback and back again with a larger group, plenty of time to get into position thought Juhal.

* The Nerxis-captain frowns while he's thinking of the possibilities his enemy has now they need their cover of the woods against their arrows. It seemed to be more safe for him and his men to return ride east a few 200 meters so they would have a large area in sight so they would see the enemy coming and being able to control it with quick but deadly stings as like a bee would attack a dog. And the sea in their backs would cover them from any attack out of that direction. With grim and steady faces the Nerxis regiment waits till the enemy would dare to enter the open grasland between the forest and them ( 500meters). They all sit straight on their horses without fear cause this is their element....open field and plenty of time to use the ounted archer-skills where the plains-cavalry is known for.*

It had been an hour since the Nerxis line had moved back a few hundred meters by the best estemates. Juhal and his troops had judged the time right and moved nearer the edge of the wood, many of these men would die by his side today. He drew forth his Hura and awaited. He knew his men would be in position, Elves may be good at hiding on forests but Gur'ai could hide in fields finding cover were others would see a simple small obstacle.
Suddenly a horn blew to the north and Juhal raised His Hura as Rhuidi began channelling Magic shields around themselves and a few warriors around them in the hope to reach the enemy with the most men. From a hill to the North 200 men sprinted towards the enemy running faster than most average plains humans but not as fast as a horse. He saw glints of spears to the south as Jakir and his chosen spears raced to combat. He didnt give a word, his men screamed battle crys and he charged with them, he moved faster than them and was a few paces ahead when they came into bow range with bucklers held ready to deflect arrows.....

* The captain's troops stood steady and waited till the enemy came into distance. With a steady face he looked to his men and gave the orders*
" Steady.....aim..... fire!"
* 90 arrows flew in a small cloud towards the Gurai coming from the north, droping several Gurai as they hitted their target. With a frown the captain notices the ability of the Gurai to deflect most of the arrows. The 5 more waves of arrows that would be possible to do till the enemy reached them would be not enough to stop them. Suddenly his attention got caught byt the glints of armour in the south. He noticed a small group of around 30 to 40 men advancing towards them. Looking to the bigger group from the north he immediately makes his choise.*
" To the south! To the south! " *he shouted*
* While having still a big distance between them and the enemy coming from the north, they galloped towards the group of Gurai in the south.*
" Each two men chose one target! One target per two men!"
* With a grim face they rode towards the Gurai group. Ninety fearless horseriders, knowing this would be their chance to break through. Soon the arrows flew through the air towards their target. Immediately a second wave follows. After the second wave the horsemen took their sword and while screaming battlecries both groups clashed upon eachother. Nine Gurai where allready laying in the grass, two feathered arrows sticking out of their chest. Another five touched the ground, dead or unconsciousness after the clash. Twentyone horsemen where allready lying on the ground after the survivors of the arrow-waves threw their spears. Now Sixty horsemen were in combat with the surviving fourteen Gurai. Another six Gurai dropped but not before taking ten horseriders with them. The eight survivors stood together , surrounded by fifty horsemen. The whole combat took only a few minutes but the other group of Gurai advanced quickly from the north. One of the Nerxis horsemen barked a command and the horsemen turned their horses and runned away to the south but not before they sended fifty arrows towards the surviving Gurai, towards those responsible for the death of their brave captain....*

(After this battle if any of the surviving Gur'ai make it back alive then I will want a post before cavalry charges hit my lines because they will have learnt a tactic to fight back))
Juhal beckoned Curses in Karata as he watched the humans flee in fear of his small force. Quickly he sheathed his Hura and walked to the site of the small conflict to the south. His men followed as he walked among the bodies, he saw many he knew including that of Jakir, a sad day he thought and one that would warrant the death of these mongrel Nerxis troops. As he sat looking into the midday sun the men around began chanting Karman Siutra, the song of the dead....
A few moments later a scout arrived from the north and reported to Juhal "There is a large rocky outcrop a mile to the north, it is on a slight hill and would be a good place for us to hold...." Juhal stood firm, he turned to another warrior named Lerim And walked to him "Lerim you are among the finest warriors i have ever seen" The man nodded "I took you with me, because i trust you, in all respects you are ready to lead" He handed the man his Hura in a sheath "Take the men to this position, i have no doubt that Al'tria will come to us with more troops and when he does you can do as you wish, but i am declaring Blood Feud on these people and will fulfill it alone" Lerim nodded looking at the sheathed blade, he had no words for he was a quite man, a calculating one too as he adjusted his belt to accomidate the Hura. He called to the men whom made the run north for this rocky outcrop as Juhal began to take the undergarbments of a Nerxis horsemen and replace his light armour with the thin woolen garbs of his foe. Once satisfied he looked vaguely like a Plains man, apart from his tanned face and stone like expression he took up the cloak of the captain of the enemy, he began to use his belt knife to cut and change it, he sewed more cloth from other foes to the cloak with a small medical kit until he was satisfied, he put the cloak on and drew the makeshfit hood around his head. Bearing a few knives and now one of his enemies long spears he made his way south to Nerxis....
