It was the beginning of another novice blademasters training lesson.
Every tutor already left with their pupils on training... except one. He was awaiting belated arrival of his student, Cesia. He walked around the room, a bit bored... how long it could take Cesia to get in here? Or better... how many times until he will improve in coming in time!
Suddenly and elf with half-put-on armour stormed in noisily and stopped in front of him. It was clear that this was his student.
"Erm... hi?" Cesia said innocently with smile, scratching on top of his head.
"Greetings, Cesia" replied the teacher, with not so much enthusiasm in his voice "...late again?"
"Eeehm... Im sorry for it, mr. I was just on my way here when I get lost in the forest and..."
"An elf that gets lost in the forest?"
"Well... urm... it wasnt a normal forest. It was... errr..."
"So abnormal forest, huh?" he added with a bit of sarcasm.
"Ye, you know! It was... it got... the trees..." the young elf gesticulated by hands in grand cicrles in the air, showing something... uncertain.
"It often happens that there are trees in a forest." remarked the teacher.
"Sure, ye, it does! But the trees that grow miles away from here are..." this time he pointed out of a window of the academy in some rather random way.
"Cesia, Ive seen you in Tal´gathir one hour ago. You couldnt make such a journey in that time."
"Well..." he scratched on his head, trying to think off another...
"Did you pause just to think off another tergiversation?"
"Wha-...tergiversation? What do you mean by that tergiversation???"
The teacher sighted. He knew that Cesia will continue like this as long as he wont achieve what he wanted... that he wont mind his late arrival. He just calmly moved to one wall of the room and opened a wooden box near it, trying to find something in it.
"Are we going to train? Hey, are we?" Cesia stepped behind him, trying to look inside the box. But his teacher was always standing right in his sight, like on purpose. In fact, it was on purpose.
"Probably... what would you do if I tell you that not?" he replied with apathy.
"What! Do you want say that we are not?!" he stepped behind the teacher impatiently. "Come on, we cannot-"
"Cesia, you talk to much to become a blademaster, do you know?"
Silence.
The teacher laid off. Finally that thing, that was almost unreachable with Cesia around came: s-i-l-e-n-c-e!
"Who, me???" suddenly sounded very well known voice.
"Cesia... we will concentrate on your training now, ok?"
"Training! I knew there will be some, even you said that not!" Cesia continued victoriously.
"Allright... did you bring you blade here today, or did you lose it in the mysterious forest you were in?"
"What do you mean by that for- ...oh, that forest!" he searched his belt "Sure I got it somewhere here...uhm... maybe... more in back..."
"So?"
"Why did i just put it on in such hurry when... Yay, I got it!!" he swiftly drawn his elven sword. For some unknown reason, he got it attached almost between his blade-bones...
"Good. Then we need just one more."
"One more?"
"Didnt you notice that the blademasters fight with two swords?"
"Hm? ... ye, sure..." he played with the one blade, half-paying attention on his tutor.
"So today youre going to practice with one more!" he finally found what he wanted and straightened up... with second blade in his hands. "You should remember the stance and moves for fighting with one, now try it with these." he gave him the second blade.
Cesia stood for a while. "...how?"
"When you stand in normal stance, one of your hands behind your back is free, right? I would try using it to hold this..."
The student looked on him with strange look. "...unexpectly." he murmuled for himself.
"Now come and try to hit me!" the teacher took his weapons and stood in defensive stance "if you miss, prepare to defend yourself!"
Cesia didnt wait, lowered his stance and headed forward.
"Defend myself? So far I havent missed and... er... huh?!" With every move, he got more and more difficulties in holding his balance...
When he finally reached his opponent, he could barely strike from the right position - and instead of that lost his balance definetly and after a short struggle with his own body he fell on the floor. The teached didnt have to do any move to defend himself in fact.
"What the-?!" he couldnt believe that.
"You should rather focus on your balance than swearing!" the tutor was already prepared to strike against him. "Or maybe you can fight better when on the ground?"
With a speed of trained blademaster, the tutor launched one attack after another by both weapons, Cesia blocking them by one sword thanks to his reflexes...
"Why dont you use the second one?" he talked calmly between the attacks "you will not be able to block everything just by one blade!"
"Not?" Cesia still continued to defend himself by one hand and slowly stood up into normal fighting stance "why couldnt I!"
"Because there may be some attacks you cannot dodge this way!" with that cry he attacked Cesia from backside.
Cesia didnt expect that. He tried to stop the attack by his own blade, but his left arm just got in the way... the hit went through to his left wrist and forced him to let the 2nd blade fal on the ground... and strong pain went throught his whole arm, even his skin wasnt cut by the dulled weapon.
"Yaw! What do you think you are doing!" he immediately counterattacked by his one weapon left, but the teacher blocked it. he barely could hold his balance...
"This is why are we using two weapons, Cesia!" he said and hit him on the second arm with his free weapon.
Cesia let the last of his weapons fall on the ground because of the hit. No way, he couldnt win now. His teacher just aimed two blades on his neck.
"You see? You need to use both of your weapons, not only one. This time in real battle, you would be..." he moved the blade a bit closer to his pupils neck "...dead." After this he returned both blades into scabbard on his belt.
It took a while before Cesia stood up again, with his blades in hands again.
"Come on, once more! This time you wont..."
"Im sorry, Cesia." the teacher looked out from the window on the sky "the lesson just ended, I think. Thanks to your late arrival... you should practice this yourself till the next training! See you then!" he said with a smile and left the room calmly. He just had to enjoy that expression on Cesias face... revenge!
So Cesia was left in the class alone with the two blades. He took them and run out...
