Good news, Lord Madyrdadi. The Wizard's Tower has been completed, and the wizards are sure that they can create a pernament portal.
Wonderful, visit Al'tria, and explain that to him, and we can discuss more issues there, too. For now, stay out of my head, and don't remind me of my mother! I know she just wants me to live, but you give me no privacy.
Ilthir broke the spell, then recasted it, this time on a merchant wizard in the Gur marketplace.
Open a portal to the throne room of House Madyrdadi, please.
A moment later, the wizard opened up a portal, and Ilthir stepped through. After thanking the wizard, he headed towards the Palace.
"I am Ilthir, the Steward to Lord Alkartir Madyrdadi, the Prince of the Elves of Elvandir, and I have come to speak with Lord Al'tria II of the Gur tribe."

The Guards outside the Palace nodded and one of the 10 at the main entrance led Ilthir through the Palace, "Im sorry, Al'tria is currently not available in the usual manner so we must head to the study". After walking through the corridors they arrived at a door guarded by the two Karata warriors who nodded as the Guard opened the door and let Ilthir in. Al'tria looked up at the elf and smiled, he placed his papers aside and stood making a slight bow he said "Welcome friend, what news from Elvandir?"

Ilthir bowed before Al'tria. "Recent developments by our Wizards have encreased our magical capabilities, and we believe we could construct a portal between our lands, one that would not need our wizards to maintain it. Also, a spy who has been following the actions of the plains humans has discovered that they are in a state of all out civil war, a feud sparked by the actions of Urain, the new Paladin of Air. The towns of Quoa and Nerai, Quoa being the one near Elvandir where you 'visited', are planning to attack the rival town of Urgor, which is heavily fortified, and produces the only metal in the area. There is a strange army stationed in the city, one that does not seem like that of the plains, which Urain seems to believe is from across the seas." It was a large report to give all at once but it was all useful information.

Al'tria almost laughed "Are you suggesting i help the Plains? They burn that of which we need, they are foolish and have no patience, their civil war brings no harm to me or my people, but i will consider this information and will take action when the need arises." He suddenly remembered what the elf said at first, a portal....quick traveling out of the desert could make the harvesting of the plains wood easier than sailing ships up the coast, and easy than transporting an army through the desert "And your portal, what will you need from us to build such a thing?"

"I suggested no such thing, I merely wished to inform you, as it may be of use at some point, however I apologize if it seemed that way. For the portal, we will need stone, and men to shape it, as we have no experience with it."

He frowned slightly and wondered "We have stone, there is a mountain range at the end of the river, but we have no means of mining it as of late....if we had a means of mining the stone we could mine it and my craftsmen could easily build the portals."

Ilthir set to work, drawing up a diagram for the builders. The construction itself would take a while, as like any elf, he wanted the work to be beautiful in addition to practical. He sent builders to the sites, one just outside Gur and one in Bylin, at the heart of town near the river. Once they where finished, the wizards would enchant the two simultaneously. The whole process should take about two weeks, he thought.
