Efren walked around the town that the elves called Bylin. It was a beautiful town, but all Efren wanted was a place to have a bath. He knew how to speak elven... but never learned to read it. This was going to be tough. He approached an elf, and kindly asked in elven. "Excuse me, where would I find a place to bathe?"

The Elf looked at him strangely for a moment, Dwarves rarely where seen around Elves, as the two races where polar opposites, and didn't usually get along well. Regaining his composure, the elf gestured to the river that was the focus of the ground based town. "We of Bylin use the river to bathe, though the Elves of Tal'gathir have baths in houses. If privacy is something cherished by your folk, you may wish to endure the trip, I could find a Ranger who could show you the way."

Efren gave the elf a look of gratitude. "We dwarfs do like a bit of privacy, hence why we live in the mountains, but I do not mind getting little privacy." He thought for a second, he was used to having warm baths. They soothe the muscles, and he was sore from the long horse rides.
He turned to the man again. "On second thought, perhaps I could meet this ranger?"

"Hold on a moment," the elf said, as he went about the town searching for a Ranger. A few minutes later, he arived with another Elf, this one taller, and garbed for stealth. The Ranger spoke, "I will take you to Tal'gathir, I was about to head their myself, anyways."
The Ranger set out for the city, guessing that his companion wasn't much of a climber, he headed for House Madyrdadi, so that the stairs could be used. When they arrived, he said, "This is the staircase to House Madyrdadi," he gestured at the hardly visible staircase winding around the tree, going up in to the canopy. "you will be welcomed in the house of our Lord, or if you chose you may find another's house, anyone who is home will likely welcome you."
Even if Elves weren't the best friends of Dwarves, they would still be friendly.

Efren bowed. "Thank you kind elf. I will stay here while I am able to."
THe House Madyrdadi, this must be the highest of all the houses for the elves, and he, a dwarf, was able to enter into it. He climbed the staircase around the tree, and was soon at the entrance. "Hello?"
He brushed off his armor a bit to regain the shine it once had. Riding through the many different terrains he did had ridden. He would take a bath, and then polish his armor. He wanted to look presentable to the elves, instead of being known as the typical dirty dwarf.
He would make peace with the elves, and his people will obey, as long as he is king...

Two Veteran Blademasters stepped out to see the dwarf. "Greetings, Dwarf, what brings you so far from your mountain home?" The Elf spoke in a friendly tone, keeping his hands away from the handles of the two dual bladed swords, though they knew full well they where fast enough to draw before a Dwarf could strike, even if they put on a show of unreadiness. There was a hint of unease about the guards of the royal house, even if it was just a single Dwarf.

Efren looked at the two elves that came towards him. His axe was slung over his shoulder in a non threatening manner"Well, I'm on a quest I have set for myself. I would like to make peace with the nations of this world, and wish to learn all that I can while I'm so far from home. I have come here in order to perhaps speak of trade and perhaps be granted of some knowledge."
Efren laughed to himself. "And possibly a bath?"

The elf laughed, "A bathing dwarf? My friend, the bards will sing of you for ages to come." The elf gestured into the building, "Come, I will arrange for a hot bath, and a meeting with the Steward." A few minutes later, a servant led the dwarf to the bathing room, and waited outside to show him back to the Throne Room, where Ilthir waited.

Efren thanked the elf, and followed him to the bathing area, where he was left alone. He undressed and got in the hot bath. It wasn't like the ones at home, which were heated using small amounts of lava, but it was soothing, and it felt great on tired muscles. After about ten minutes, he got out, and dressed.
Efren walked out of the door, and an elf waited for him there. "I'm ready..."

The elf led him to the throne room, where Ilthir sat on a notably less adorned chair beside the throne itself, with a small table that has a bowl of water on it, in front of him. Ilthir motioned for a guard to bring the guest a chair.
"Greetings, what may the humble race of the Elves do for you?"

Efren took a seat as the elf brought him a chair. "Thank ye."
He turned his attention to the man sitting beside the throne. "I am King Efren Okar of the Dwarfs. I'm on a personal quest I have set for myself. I would like to make peace with all the nations of this world, and perhaps learn other traditions then my own. We have a newly opened mine, and are currently excavating for metals, who knows what we shall find. I am one of the few of my people that can speak other languages. Despite my young appearance, I have learned a lot in my short years. I'd like to propose a trade of some kind, If it is in your desire to trade with the dwarfs."

"We Elves create our weapons magically, and our buildings are all of wood, so we have little use for your stone or ore. Perhaps you would be interested in purchasing Elven wood or food? Maybe even knowledge? The Elves have extensive knowledge of the world. As for peace, that I can give."
Ilthir looked down at the image of Alkartir in the bowl of water, and mentally relayed him all that was happening. Ilthir responded, A dwarf? In Tal'gathir? I never thought I would live to see the day. Well, treat him well, they may be nothing like us, but they where still made by the Gods, and they still deserve our respect, until they prove themselves unworthy.

Efren nodded. "Trade would be good. Wood is scarce in the mountains, and is very useful for us. If you would like, I could send word to bring a sample of the nectar of the gods. Peace, and knowledge is all I can really ask for. We dwarfs don't know much about the world, and we would like to see it for what it really is, not what we believe it is."
Efren's stomach rumbled "Eh heh, what kind of food would ye be willing to trade?"

A guard approached, carrying a bowl of the leaves from the trees in Elvandir.
"Guests are welcome to all the food they can eat. We eat these leaves, as they are nutritious and abundant. However, you may not have much taste for them. If it is your wish, I can send a Ranger to find some meat."

Efren looked at the leaves. Meat sounded good. But no, he was here to learn about other delicacies of the land. Efren took a leave and ate it. It was bitter to him at first, but then as he chewed it, it tasted better. "Its nah too bad, if I say so myself. A bit different than what I'm used to, but I could get used to it."
Efren ate another leave. What he wouldn't give for a bit of beer. He kept eating the leaves until he was content. "So, about the trades. We dwarfs could perhaps mend your armor to make it more durable. My armor may look thick and make it seem I couldn't move fast, but looks can be deceiving. We have our heavy armored folk in the mountains. I prefer to keep my movement."
