The last left soldier from the fight with Al´Tria´s men finally reached several riders standing on the edge of Quoa, exhausted from the run and still frightened from strangers attack.
"Raise the alarm! Attackers!" he shouted grasping for breath "In the forest, strange people! They attacked us and killed our patrol!"
One of the horsemen immediately draw a horn and sounded it. From one patrol to another, all around the city, blow of horns sounded like avalanche, calling citiziens into arms and warning before attack on them... it was only a question of seconds before it reaches everyone.

The ranger was walking down the streets of the town when he first heard the alarm. So, someone was attacking Quoa? Colarian knew it was not his place to fight in the battle, he no longer held allegiance to the humans of the plains, or any humans, or any mortals, for that matter. He would not yet draw his blade, Paerai did not deem anyone here worthy of Colarian's vengeance. Still, he would stay near, someone may yet mess up.

Al'tria spoke quietly "Foolish". He drew a horn made of bone and blew it as hard as he could. In the distance near the ridge 500 Predatiar riders charged from the treeline towards the city followed by hundreds of Gur'ai Warriors. Al'tria took a look to the preparing elves then shouted to his men in Karata "Leave none willing to fight alive". The warriors drew spears and threw them few missing their targets from such close range before they charged blades drawn and spears ready.

Alkartir sighed, "Why must it always come to violence?" he said, in the plains language, before waving to his guard. The thirty wizards started to chant, casting as one, one they where finished, a green wall of magical force had appeared around the three groups, forcing the battle to wait. The thirty stood there, with their hands locked in the position, maintaining the spell. These elite elven warriors did not fear the humans, but they where not keen on the idea of even a single loss. So three of the rangers had ran out, as planned before, to the nearest stations. In ten minutes, the extent of the elven army that was now patrolling the western half of Elvandir would arrive.
Speaking back to the leader of Quoa, Alkartir said, "We did not come here to fight, but you have left us without choice. Ready yourselves, the wrath of the Elves is soon upon you."

The milita of Quoa looked surprised by the barrier suddenly encircling them... from trees? This wasnt quantilians place to fight...
All the riders just watched with desparation, unable to do anything. Only ones who tried something were mages and Ioran. They seemed to make some handsigns and whispered something silenty... but Ioran´s concentration was interrupted by Alkatir´s voice.
"We did not come to fight?" he said disgustedly "And that attack on our men was just coming ritual, right? Traitors! You came to slay us?! Paerai will judge you!"
With that he returned to preparing to cast a spell...

Al'tria looked questionaly at the barrier and swiftly ordered his men to retreive the spears that had been deflected by the barrier. He looked to Alkatir and thought to himself, he hoped the elven lord knew what he was doing now the humans would be ready for a fight and it would be more difficult, more of his men would die......
Near the ridge the 1000 warriors accompanied by 500 Predatiar riders stood ready to charge the city.....

Ten thousand elves stepped out of the forest, in to view. "They went all the way to Tal'gathir?" Alkartir was surprised, but, then again, the loyalty of elves has always been very there. At least it would make up for Al'tria's men. A few of the more experienced soldiers, what would be officers by human standards, walked up to Alkartir, reporting the numbers. "Get the troops into defensive positions, have the wizards create an anti-magic field in the plains humans area." Alkartir moved forward, towards the wall. He could hear the chanting of nearly a thousand wizards, as he approached the wall, it dissapeared. He could feel the wizard's work, the normal slight lingering magic feeling around the humans had dissapeared, and he felt his influence stop where the human army was. "Come now, we do not need to die here, let us speak." Alkartir shouted, still maintaining his elven grace even while throwing his voice so far. He hoped that this would go well, at least the size of his army might be enough to intimidate...

Kiam stood among the ranks of elven warriors. The messengers had reached Tal'gathir and he voluntered to join the army on its march, he was fast enough to keep up with the elves and he was determined to unlock his memories, all of them and the elven blade masters say he showed the elves how to fight humans. If that was the case maybe fighting humans in a battle would unlock more memories. He stood beside the elves, his blade still sheathed but he was ready, he closed his eyes and let his soul free, let his mind take control....he awaited the signal.

A scout reported to Al'tria directly from the larger force stationed near the ridge. He spoke hastily "Lord, another human warhost is moving from the city in the east". Al'tria sighed and motioned for the scout to follow him as he walked to Alkartir. He stood before Alkartir and spoke in Elven "They have more troops moving from a city further east, even if we were to take this city, and at a cost i would imagine we are better soldiers but they will fight to the death to defend their families. Even if we took the city we would be met by another force, maybe more." He waited a moment before saying again "As i said these men are defending their families, they will be full of zeal, they will not fear any of us they will only fight to give their families time to escape, for all they know we will butcher them as soon as they lower their weapons" He awaited a response from the young elven lord.

Alkartir nodded, "Aye, I do not doubt they will fight well, if it comes to that. But that is not why I am here, and an army can do more than kill. We will speak with them, and maybe, when they see the size of this force, they will realize it is foolish to fight. Wars can be won without ever drawing a blade, Al'tria, this is what we should do."

Ioran stood firm on his place with clerics and riders by sides. The spells he and his fellows were preparing to invoke didnt work...
He hold his wand firmly, frowning on his opponents.
"I dont care how many of you are here... I will not let you pass inside, murderers!"
He signed back to the soldiers and mages... clerics began to perform handsigns again, trying to break anti-magic of elves... all riders raised their spears ready to charge forward and all kaquon riders around aimed their long-ranged weapons on intruders.
"I see you got full mouth of peace talkings. So why are you rising your weapons? Why did you kill our people first?"
He swinged with his wand. "Come if you want fight - or lower your weapons if not! But we will not let leave these who spolied our peoples blood without punishment!" he pointed with wand, now glowing by red light, on Al´Trias soldiers that attacked Quoa´s patrol in the forest.
"But think quickly, intruder!" Ioran raised his hand, holding it in the air as sign to soldiers around.
Meanwhile outside the city, riders made a thick wall of their own bodies to prevent any more stranges from entering the city... with kaquons ready to throw.

Alkartir walked up to Ioran, with the standard speed and grace of an elf. "Use your eyes, friend. I am not the same as those who attacked you. I am an elf, they are humans. I live in a tree, they live in a desert. Just because they are knowledgeable, they are not elves. I came here in peace, merely to warn you not to hurt our trees, and seek potential peace, maybe even trade, but the timing was bad, I see. Now, I could just shout a word, and have my men, people who have spent hundreds of years training for the one thing they do, unleash their wrath upon you, but I would rather not. You might manage to kill one, and they are my friends. I am not just their lord, I am also their friend. When you live as long as we do, and in such small numbers, you learn to know each other. Our bond is such that for one, all will come. That is why when my wizards saw the hatred in your hearts the ran to my aid. With such a bond, we hate to see death, and though we prepare for it, we avoid it. Now, I ask you, are you wise, or are you a fool? Are you kind, or are you cruel? Will you speak with us?"

Ioran slowly let his hand down, but the riders behind him didnt loose their attention. Just amges stopped in casting spells.
"Very well then." he Ioran still with a bit distrusful voice "maybe there is some difference between you and these ones. But if you want speak with us, why are you protecting them!"
The soldiers around turned to desert warriors.
"The alarm was raised because of their killing in the forest. I dont care if they got interest in our woods, but I wont.. no one from us will let them go without judgement after what theyve done!"

Al'tria stepped forward, he walked toward the plains human his face devoid of any sort of emotion as he stared deep into the mans eyes. He kept his gaze for a few moments to show his intentions, he then spoke "We of the desert are not here with the elves, it is by chance we meet here today."
He walked back and ordered the rest of his men to regroup with the other men near the ridge, he then turned back to face the human "We are not here to fight a war, if we were i would have more than this token force to accompany me i asure you". He ran his hand across the bone blade of his still unsheathed blade, even though it was made of such primitive material it was hardened and sharped continuasly to be as good as any average metals.
He spoke again his gaze fixed on th human "We came with a blood feud to those that burn wood without considering those in need of it! Bring these men forward to face my wrath in single combat with a blade, unless of course you would like to take their place?" He laughed openely before begging his treck back to his men shouting back behind him "If its war you want, then its war you get from the Gur'lain Tribes!"

Ioran gazed back into Al´Trias eyes with anger and spoke through his teeth.
"I will come with a blood feud to those that killed our people without considering those close to them! ...and if its war you want, dont worry, our messengers are quicker than you!" he shouted.
He swinged with the wand and turned to Alkatir. "Im sorry if I mistaken you with such barbarians as these are. Anyway... I guess I got no time for talking about trade now."
Walking away, he stopped once more "...and by the way, I guess rhar army from The Plains is coming. if you dont want fight, dont raise your weapons when they come as they were told about attackers on Quoa and could easily mistaken you too. If you are telling truth."
With that he left with escort of fifty riders to Al´Trias camp to the south.
