hmmm... as I know myself well enough as a lazy ass, i'm gonna put some questions inhere instead of searching through the whole forum ( which is quite big )for answers . I hope you guys don't mind. Ofcours i do have some manners so i'll introduce myself ( not character) first. I'm Anton, an Aegis-player. Learned to know rp over there and have around...a year rp-experience now. That should be enough i think Anyway, fasten your seatbelts, questions on the way 1/ Saw the race stuff.... do you realy have to pick a race? I allready got an extensive character based on the Valheru-race out of the books of Raymond E. Feist ( which is one of the best fantasy writers ever! you realy should try him). I use the name ( Valheru) and the fact my character has a dragon as compagion ( secondairy character...less used but still played in detail with nature, moods,....) The rest is personaly added. Draken-Korin ( the system didn't allowed me to use a " - " between it ) has next to his normal fighting-skills, the ability of using fire-magic. He also has his weakness but won't tell it...it's up to you to find it Dragon-blood runs through his vains which makes him able to call up his Valheru-skills. So...can my character be seen as a Sorcerer, magician? Or maybe even a dragon as he is kinda half-dragon in some kind of way.... When i know which "race" he belongs to, then i'll read the race-thread and the skills it belongs to. I'm kinda of the principal not to do stuff without use ( ref; the lazy ass i am ) Another question. So a duel or war is done by your character ( and buyed soldiers), using stuff ( like armour and things) to win. But what in case of a better roleplayer vs a better 'equiped' player? greetings, Draken-Korin

first, glad you decided to check it out Anton.
In reference to your question you cant be valheru unfortunatly we are all stuck with the set races, and you will not start off with amazinf valheru skill. But heres some refuge, if you capture a dragon egg you can train it to become your dragon, and with training you would become what a valheru is, or its skills anyway. This is really a chance to play your character from the beggining to the present for you but enjoy the RP up until you have the mega amazing valheru style guy.
To your other question, it is based on RP in the sense of going into detail so the judge knows what your doing in detail. If you are better equiped or higher level of course your more likly to win but a good writer maybe able to find a weakness, thus we have balance. For armies its basicly how we used to do it, its based mainl on tactics.

All conflict between players will be resolved by who is the best RPer, and who's posts are best written. Obviously, the best RPer takes the stats and gear into account, and won't beat a master swordsman in blade combat if they have no training, and won't parry a godforged warhammer with a dagger.
For your race, you don't start all powerful, you work to it, making it all the greater when you've earned it. Bearing that in mind, it will come to a point where someone can kill many others with ease, so if you get to that point, it's wise to use discretion. "With great power comes great responsibility." Remember, there is always someone above you (The Elder Gods), and they exist to keep the game fun, if you are being a bastard, they'll deem you a threat to balance. (See the Gods section, specifically about Paerai, to see what they do about people who threaten balance.
A thing I should note about dragons: They're a lot more powerful then many other versions. The average dragon is 16 stories tall, and not rideable without some seriously uber saddles, that don't exist yet.

hmmm...maybe i'll play this rp-game with another character just for fun. Don't want to offend you guys, as i've seen, you've been doing a great job over here, but I don't accept being forced into some race or pre-writen storyline. Gonna check out if i have time enough to put into this forum cause it looks great but we'll see. P.S. Btw, Valheru ride their dragons on the neck, just before the shoulders. Like in the trailer of Lair. RP ain't based on it but discovered the game-trailer a few months ago and i LOVE it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=467zs7pt0wE&feature=related

Hmm... i'll start with a cousin of Draken-Korin. Belial, named after the father of the current family leader Lord Barfael. Also Valheru but not trained or skilled yet in the natural fire-magic of his race. So, seems obvious he belongs to the sorcerer ( due the fire-magic of his race)
Then some questions:
As sorcerer, is only investing points in spells allowed or is weapon skills also allowed ( ofcours by using points to “buy” it).
Do i have to invent my own sort of spells by rank like the posts of Kinether and Altria in the magic-thread?
Rank 1 (5) does this means that to get the abilities of rank 1 you have to use 5 points to be permanently ranked 1?
And about finding a dragon-egg and raising it... I kinda like that as i'm using a new character anyway so... But do i get one myself and gain points for it by roleplaying raising it. If not and i have to find one.. how? Just roleplay myself finding it or what?
Oh, please delete the DrakenKorin account. I'll make a new one Belial.

Spell lists are only for wizards, sorcerers can do nearly anything they can think of, as long as it's roughly equivelent in power to the wizard spells of the same level. The number beside the ranks in wizard spells mean how much each spell costs. If you're planning on being a sorcerer, then you should read the magic section in full.
To find a dragon egg, you have to go to a nest, where the dragons are. The mother would always be guarding it, however the father might be out hunting when you arrive. If you don't have enough stealth, chances are you'd have to kill the dragon first, before you could take the egg. In the case of a gold dragon, you could attempt to negotiate... You wouldn't be able to ride a dragon once it got full grown, or at least, not in the fashion you're used to. They get far too big for you to fit. You'd haveto like, make a saddle around a spike, then make a massive ladder up to it, and would need to be heavily strapped in. Perhaps you should consider a wyrmling, they're far more acquirable, and are designed to be mounts.

kk got it. Keep it on human(oïd) sorcerer and you can take the valheru spell list as the usual attacks a Valheru used when using his magic.
idem for Dragon thing. will do as you propose.
But can i have your msn for further questions perhaps?

I would like to buy 'barracks', 'archery range', 'stables' and one 'warship'
It will cost 6300 gold so i have 700 gold left.
With the cheaper soldiers ...how much cost they now acctualy? don't find a thread where you can buy extra soldiers.

I'm thinking military buildings will be more than a small business. Probobly around 2,000, and that's assuming you have the resources for free. It's also unwise to let your treasury get too low, tax brackets can be far appart, and you never know when you'll need some gold.

why should i need gold now? anyway, One warship and archery and cavalry = 5800. So, 1200 left.
And how about cheaper soldiers? what do you mean with cheaper as Krondor allready has an army?

I'm going to have to work with those buildings and what they do, but it would be cheaper unit creation. I may make a barracks a requirement to have an army stationed/based in a city... And it's good to have gold, because you never know when you'll want to use some. For example, if you are cool and have spies, those spies would need to be given the gold for their mission by you, it doesn't just appear out of thin air.
