Tired, hungry, thirsty, Gimble walked into sight of the City of Gur, he had worried that the other gnomes had underestimated the distance through the desert, and that he would die in this place. Gimble ran towards the city, using what little energy he had left. "I should have learnt a water-making spell!" Gimble complained as he approached the nearest buildings...

A few soldeirs patroled the outter reaches of the city ready incase of Hex or other attacks. One saw a figure approaching and drew his spears and a sharp whistle echoed as other warriors charged to the source of the sound. As the figure approached nearer the first warrior spoke "What bussiness do you have in the desert city of Gur!"

Gimble looked at the guards, he had to squint to see them as he peered out from under his sun-shielding hood. "I seek water and a place to stay, as your desert seems to have neither." Gimble was worried the desert humans where as barbaric as the other gnomes had said, so he mentally prepared himself to cast, but he was far too thirsty and tired to possibly recall all the details of any of his spells, it would probably be better to run than risk trying to shoot out fire in this state, and running didn't have much hope either.

The warrior smiled and sheathed his bone blade, he swiftly sent the other warriors back to their posts before moving toward the gnome. He knelt on one knee before the gnome and took his water skin offering the gnome water. "It is a foolish move traversing the desert alone without guidance, i fear a little more to the east and you would have missed the city...you are lucky small one"
He imediatly took the gnome to a small tavern type building just inside the city outskirts and passed a few gold pieces to the owner before returning to the gnome "Id think it best to see the lord, Al'tria i can arrange it, he enjoys seeing people from other cultures it will benefit you i think to see him..."

Gimble sat on a chair, with a little difficulty, and let his legs dangle as he tried to clear his head. The desert trip had been far too long, but now he was in Gur, and... Well, didn't really know what to do. The people here where friendly enough, perhaps they would help him.

A few minutes after the warrior had left another entered the small building. He wore a bandana and a cloak of red scales, obviously as a trophy of a beast he had slain previously, he walked toward Gimble. When he reached the Gnome he placed both hands together and nodded his head, a sign of respect in Gur'ai society as he spoke "I hear you are the small on who traversed the desert without guidance, certainly a huge feat for someone not of our kind, i am here to guide you around our city and help you on what ever mission you may be on"....

Gimble smiled. "No mission, just looking for a new place to live. My own people don't want me anylonger, the plains are far too strange, and the elves don't have meat!" Gimble sighed. "The other gnomes acused me of a dasterdly crime that I did not commit, and untill I can prove it, I need a new place to stay."

(Sorry forgot to change characters :S))
He looked surprised to of more races than the elves. Most people in Gur'ai didnt venture further than the border outposts, and even then they never returned, Gur'ai only knew the elves since they began trading the green food....and what was a Gnome? He studied the small man in front of him, he was short about two heads taller than himself and he was considered average height among the Gur'ai. He failed to see how such a tiny man, brandishing no mark of a warrior could possibly cross the sand sea alone! He spoke once he realised he had been spoken too "Well, small one, you may stay here for as long as needed but i strongly suggest you see our leader. He is, interested, in people from past the outposts and he would learn much from you i think, it may even benefit you but until then i am your guide in our lands, even if you should leave across the desert once more.

"Hmm... Yes, I think I would like to see your leader, then, if he has time." Gimble said, in his usual distant voice.
